Scorchio 2022 – Day 3

We didn’t quite break the all time temperature high here yesterday. We got close though. The all time high was 33.7ºC and we ‘only’ made it to 33.4ºC on the Borth and Ynyslas Weather Station. That was hot enough for us. It’s always a little cooler by the sea of course and just inland from here at Gogerddan a new Wales high was recorded of 35.3ºC early in the day. This was soon broken by an all time Wales high of 37.1ºC at Hawarden Bridge in Flintshire. That smashes the old record by just under 2ºC.

Elsewhere in the UK, the all time high wasn’t quite broken either, but they are expecting that to fall today. It’s not even 8am here yet and the temperature is already above 26ºC. It didn’t drop below 21ºC last night.

Chilling

We didn’t do too much yesterday. Anna and I headed off into the hills for a picnic in the shade next to the River Einion. It was hot in the shade of course but not as bad as in the sun. We headed over to the beach for a dip in the evening too. The water is lovely at the moment and the beach was quiet. Morgan headed off into Aber to meet with his friends and then couldn’t get home as the trains were cancelled so I ended up on a late night rescue mission in the car!

It looks set to be another hot one today, but temperatures should start dropping here this afternoon and by tomorrow they should be back down to normal at below 20ºC. No doubt it’ll feel chilly! We’re not supposed to break records here today in Wales, but the sun is rising so you just never know.

    I’m so jealous lol
We t queued with the children to get into Wotton pool which can only take forty, we were around tenth may fifteenth ish so we knew it was worth waiting even that heat, only to have three people in front of us let a huge group of people i that she said she was saving places for as they were from America join her, so we couldn’t get in . I even asked her how more she was going to let push in and explained the situation, the life guard also came out and said only forty so first in gets in but they just didn’t care so we had four very hot and upset children

Unfortunately not as only one session even though they were opened for two hours, we could have waited in the hope that 7 people got out, but unless the whole group got out it was unlikely that we’d be able to get in ,if just a couple got out we felt we couldn’t stop others behind us getting in. We went back to kia’s for lemonade and ice cream. We’ve now managed to book whole pool for upto 10 people for £30 for next Monday .
