Out and Around, Up and Down

So far this year on Bank Holidays we have been open water swimming in Borth and Ynyslas rather than from Aberystwyth. I thought I’d offer the same this Bank Holiday but had no takers so ended up going on a swim adventure of my own. Out and Around I started in the estuary and had...

Bank Holiday Madness

It was pretty much business as usual for us this Bank Holiday. Plenty of kayaking, surf-skiing, bike riding, mountain-biking, running, swimming and surfing for me. Nothing unusual there, just a normal weekend really. There was baking and cake-eating, cleaning and gardening and all the things that we usually get up to. We popped into Aberystwyth...

The Carneddau via Llech Ddu Spur

A few people from work have been doing occasional scrambles in Snowdonia lately. The last was up Tryfan last year. There was a plan to repeat this on Tuesday and do Bristly Ridge which we missed last time. I fancied something a little different though so suggested we head to the Carneddau instead. The aim...

Quad Camp Day 7 – Snowdon’s South Ridge

Things were winding down for the Quadrathlon Camp by now. Most people had headed home yesterday so I was doing my own thing. The campsite was horribly busy now as well. I suppose it was the weekend and we had just had a week of glorious weather. My early morning trip to the toilet and...

Quad Camp Day 4

I was feeling a little better today. Nowhere near as snotty and the sore throat has almost gone. My legs were pretty sore from the run down Snowdon though. Porthmadog TT The plan for today was a cycle TT into Porthmadog and that’s exactly what we did. The weather was lovely once again so we...

Quad Camp Day 3 – Snowdon

Day 3 of the quad Camp brought with it a super sore throat and snot galore. Lovely!! Big, thick green slimey snot that seemed to go on forever. It was the sort that has some proper weight to it and brings a sense of immense but short-lived satisfaction when ejected from ones nostrils. Short-lived because...

Signs of Spring?

It doesn’t feel as though we’ve even started Winter yet. Regardless, there are already signs of Spring in the garden with Daffodil shoots, Periwinkle flowers, flower buds on the Hellebore and even some rhubarb shoots breaking through the soil. It’s not looking very Spring-like out over the sea this morning though.
