A Wonderful Weekend

It’s been a while since I’ve had a weekend that felt fairly packed with activities. It wasn’t quite up to my standards of old and it was all fairly chilled but it was still a good one. Anna probably got some peace and quiet too while I was out! Although the people I’d been out with did come back for hot chocolates and we all got sucked into watching extreme sports videos that Anna got subjected to as well. Nothing new there really as that was always a common theme from weekends of old.

Saturday

Saturday saw Imi and I have a chilled paddle to Aberdyfi and back. Imi was in her sea kayak and I was on my surf ski. The surf ski is quite a bit more efficient so I had a nice easy paddle. I think Imi had to put in a little more effort but not too much as there was more chatting going on than paddling really! We stopped off partway up the estuary, and then headed back the way we’d come before having a little play in the waves.

It was then home for hot chocs and a video session.

Sunday was a lovely day. It was cold to start with at minus 1ÂșC and there was a cold Easterly wind too. Perfect conditions to show Lawrence one of my favourite runs. He was suitably impressed with the varied run and had a good morning out. I didn’t take any photos as I’ve been on this route loads of times before but the views over the estuary were up to their usual standards.

Back at home and the surf was looking really good. 3ft with a solid offshore wind. Maybe a little too much for my surf ski so I was thinking of surfing instead. However, it had dropped off a little once Imi and Joe arrived so I headed over with the surf ski again. Imi had her surf kayak today and a SUP for Joe. They both had surfboards too just in case it was still a little too big. It was actually perfect and the surf ski was the ideal craft today. Easy, mellow fast peeling waves and lots of sunshine. Lovely.

You gotta love a day at the beach.
