A morning amongst the willow

You’d expect my new role as ‘Digital Content Manager’ for the Biomass Connect project to be mainly desk-based. It is really as I’m responsible for the project’s website, it’s social media, it’s webinars, it’s newsletter and publishing all of the digital content. This includes technical articles, factsheets, podcasts, videos and such like.

So, when given a chance to spend some of Thursday morning out in the field filming the harvesting of some willow trees ready for sampling I didn’t say no! Typically it was a cold, wet, dreary day. Not unusual here in February but as it followed a couple of sunny Spring-like days it was a bit of a shame. It wouldn’t really make for great photos or videos either.

It was okay though as I was able to get a few photos of the willow stands and put together a little video montage of the harvesting and sampling activities.

Once back at home, it was time to sit in front of the computer once again editing the video into a nice short clip that hopefully gives an idea of what was going on.
