Christmas Day 2022

It wouldn’t be Christmas with a Christmas Day blog post. To be honest, there isn’t a huge amount to blog about really. You could probably look back to the Christmas Day blog posts from the past few years and it would be almost the same! That’s not a complaint of course, more an observation that we have got it dialled and are keeping it the way we like it!

I was up early as usual. Around 4:00 am to be precise. I got up quietly and made the most of the cheap off-peak electricity by getting two loads of washing and drying done – it’s a glamorous life we lead! Santa had been and the presents around the tree were looking good.

Anna joined me in the living room around 8:00am and then we had to wait for Morgan to rise. We woke him up at 9am and by 10am we were ready to go. Breakfast of coffee and croissants was followed by the opening of the presents. As usual there was plenty for all. Although, now that Morgan is almost 18 his weren’t quite as exciting as usual. Especially seeing as the majority of his present this year was money towards insuring a car! It might not be that exciting on Christmas Day, but it does mean he’ll be able to drive the car whenever he wants next year. That in itself should open up lots of exciting opportunities. He did have lots of other things too, clothes, a bedside table, wireless chargers and such like

The theme of Anna’s presents seemed to be warmth and chocolate with lots of warm clothes, coats and blankets for lounging on the sofa with and the usual chocolate treat. There was also a lamp for lighting her books while she’s lounging on the sofa.

My main present (which was a joint Xmas and Birthday present) was a new Insta360 camera. I also had plenty of clothes, sweets and chocolates too and a nice new helmet for kayaking. I might use it for windsurfing too.

There were also plenty of joint presents. The usual calendars, weblog books and a couple of games. There was a Ninja Foodi Air Fryer too!

Dinner

Christmas dinner was the usual affair lovingly cooked by Anna. Once again it was courtesy of a Hello Fresh Christmas box, and once again there was more than enough food for 6. Yes, there’s only 3 of us! It was all delicious and didn’t really leave any room for pudding.

The afternoon was spent playing with our new toys. I went for a walk with my camera but couldn’t quite get it working properly. I think there’s an issue with the SD card so I’ll have to get that sorted. Morgan was quite taken with Dobble, and Anna loves her new snuggly blanket/jumper thing!

What with that, some leftovers for dinner, far too many sweets and chocolates and some evening TV it was off to bed after another family Christmas together.

I hope everyone had a good day?
