The January Doldrums

I’ve been trying to think of things to add to the blog over the past week or so, but we just haven’t been up to much really. I guess it’s just the January Doldrums. It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s miserable and more often than not it’s dark outside. We’re back at work, Christmas seems as...

Signs of Spring?

It doesn’t feel as though we’ve even started Winter yet. Regardless, there are already signs of Spring in the garden with Daffodil shoots, Periwinkle flowers, flower buds on the Hellebore and even some rhubarb shoots breaking through the soil. It’s not looking very Spring-like out over the sea this morning though.

Huge Skies

Huge Skies and some big waves at Ynyslas today. Not a bad sunset either! Shame I’m suffering with some sort of man-flu lurgy otherwise I would have been out there playing in the sea.

A Wet Windy Weekend in Wales

Another wet and very windy weekend here in West Wales. We don’t let that stop us though. A good Spring clean (even though its Winter) early on Saturday morning without waking Anna and Morgan meant that the house was ready for the Christmas decorations to go up. Mother Nature Showtime

Mother Nature is putting on quite a show again this morning. Big Surf, 50 knot winds and a glorious sunrise. I couldn’t resist a few more photos. This post is therefore nothing but a few nice photos of the sea and the beach here at Ynyslas.

Frosty Ski 0

Earning the Frosty Badge!

Brrrr, that was a chilly frosty one. Minus 4ºC on the Borth & Ynyslas Weather Station when I headed out for a surf ski paddle this morning. The grass was crusty with frost, the sun was just putting in an appearance and wisps of mist were rising from the sea. Tiny waves lapped against the...

Weather Station Updates

I’ve been making some changes to the Borth & Ynyslas Weather Station pages lately. So, this is what’s new. Rainfall Data The dry weather early in the year made me realise that the rainfall data that is presented on the weather station pages was a little lacking in detail. In my defence there was a...

Bands, Brunches and Bank Holidays

2 Day Weeks Another weekend has gone and this one was a Bank Holiday Weekend – Although I’d kind of forgotten that as they all seem to roll into one these days. I also work from home on Mondays and Tuesdays every week so Bank Holiday Mondays don’t mean much to me. The weekend was action...

Rain

The 2018 drought and heatwave continues. There was a brief respite over the past few days and that maybe partly my fault. The lack of rain prompted me to do some work on the Borth & Ynyslas weather station website pages by adding a ‘rainfall’ data page. For some reason I never added this when I...
