A Solar Year
The weather has been terrible lately, so much rain and wind every day hat it has barely even gotten light. It’s a good job we have the Christmas decorations up to brighten things up a little. The solar panels haven’t been producing much. The daily yield graph for the past 20 days from my solar reporting app doesn’t make for good reading.
We had one day back on the 13th December where we generated just over 10kWh, other than that it has been less than 5kWh per day and on most days next to nothing. This terrible December just rounds out a not very sunny year really and our generation for 2023 was down somewhat on 2022.
Let’s hope 2024 is somewhat sunnier. Although, it all helps, even the dreariest days generate some electricity for us, I suppose if it’s enough to power the Christmas Lights then that’s still a saving. And with over 4,000 kWh generated for the year that’s a decent amount of electricity that we havent had to import from the grid. This not only saves us money but it’s from a green, renewable resource so it’s doing our but for the planet too.

Hi Alan
Wonder if you can help with this problem
I updated the solex app and the whole app has changed and gives you much more data but I can’t seem to find a way to log into the settings in order to change any of the ie discharge and charge times
Any ideas would be grateful received
Hi Vince,
Yep, the new app isn’t great and doesn’t really work at all on tablets as you can’t scroll to see all of the info.
So, you can revert back to the old app if you want – there’s a switch app icon somewhere.
However, if you stick with the new interface you can get to the settings by clicking on the ‘site’ button at the bottom of the page. Next, click on the site that shows up in the site list. Then click on the inverter info at the bottom of the page. Finally click on the ‘remote settings’ link. That should get you to the settings as before.
Hope that helps.
Al.
Hi Al
That works, thanks very much for that it would be helpful if they had that information on there site.
On another note been a bit like you in Fife with the availability of the sun!
But still managing to get some use, but charging battery overnight using the cheap rate which helps with the underfloor heating first thing in the morning
