How to Show Someone You Care?

There are certain people in our lives who make the world a better place – especially when we’re going through hard times. While life may be busy and you struggle to maintain certain relationships with friends or family members on a daily basis, it’s always important to acknowledge that you care for them and are grateful that they’re in your life.

You don’t have to spend a large amount of money to get this point across – there are a lot of ways you can do so that truly comes from the heart. Check out the below tips to give you a little inspiration:

Prove it with actions

You might have heard the saying ‘actions speak louder than words’, and this is truly the case if you wish to show how much someone means to you. Very often, we’re guilty of making promises that we never fulfill, which isn’t a nice trait. While you may have to juggle responsibilities to make things happen in a hectic lifestyle, the incentive is that you can take comfort in knowing that your loved one is fully aware that you think a lot of them and are willing to go the extra mile.

Make sure you’re just a phone call away

If you live far away from close friends and family members, expressing that you’re only a phone call away makes the world a much smaller place. The occasional phone call lets people know that you’re on their mind, but it’s at times when they’re going through tough times that ultimately proves how much you care.

Sometimes, it’s just about taking the time to listen so that they can let out their emotions, knowing that they have a trusting friend to hear them out and take on any advice you can offer. Giving up your time is one of the best traits you can show as a true friend.

Surprise them with gifts

There are few better feelings than being surprised by a gift from a loved one. So, why not pledge to brighten up their day with a thoughtful gift? Whether they’ve had a bad day at work, broke up with their partner, or simply haven’t been feeling too good about themselves, a pick-me-up gift is sure to put a smile back on their face – and that should be the greatest reward. When it’s their birthday, don’t grab the first thing you see on the shelf. Take the time to consider their interests with a quirky birthday gift.

Offer to help out

There are times when a loved one might be going through a stressful time. Offer to take some of the pressure off their shoulders by lending a helping hand – whether it is picking up the kids from school, bringing over food, or assisting with house chores. It’s the little things that count and are likely to be remembered for the years to come. Who knows – the favor may be returned if you need the support in the future.
