Cyprus Holiday Videos

Technology is pretty good sometimes. My photos and videos from my phone get automatically sent to Google Photos so that I have an online backup of them – along of course with about 6 other backups on various Hard Drives and then backups of those Hard Drives, another of which is in the Cloud. Actually, I think they go to Amazon photos as well so there must be at least 8 copies of them that I could get hold of if needed, not to mention the copies that get posted to this website which are on yet another server and backed up to others!

As well as storing the original photos and videos for me, Google Photos sometimes takes it upon itself to try to improve these photos and automatically creates things such as

  • panoramic photos from a series of photos,
  • photo collages,
  • stylised photos,
  • slideshows
  • and even videos.

Sometimes these are quite good. I don’t always look at all of them but here are a couple of videos that it created for me from our recent holiday to Cyprus. They are pretty good really and save me a lot of time editing video clips and putting it to music etc.

The one that caught my eye seems to be a round up of the whole holiday and Google has even worked out where we were and added some titles to it.

The next seems to be made from our Chill out Catamaran Cruise and a Scuba Dive in Green Bay.

It’s not quite as good as the first one and the ending is a little odd but again it’s not too bad and I quite like the music it’s set to.
