The Hardscaping Continues

I think I’m getting somewhere with this hardscaping. I had an idea in bed last night to try to build up some rocks at the back of the tank around the edges of the lighter coloured stream. I wanted to create the effect of a mountain stream emerging from a gorge, something we get a ,ot of around here in West Wales. In fact, the rocks I’m using were collected from just such a stream.

I therefore added a few more rocks this morning and came up with this.

A bit of an improvement on yesterday attempts as I also added a few more pebbles around the edges of the stream in order to give it a more defined path and improve the curve a little. I’ve been playing with it again this afternoon though and have added a few more stones and have graded the gravel and pebbles within the stream to create more of a perspective effect. I think its getting there now. Although once it has plants in I’m sure none of this landscape effect will be seen.

It’s probably time to stop fiddling now though before I go too far and ruin it.
