A Ride to Nant y Moch
It was the last day of Half Term and finally I had a day that I could spend with Morgan. So, after a few chores around the house and a little bit of work we headed up to Pendam for a mountain bike ride.
Morgan wanted to head out to Nant y Moch, but I wanted to check on one of our ‘Watery Wales‘ series of geocaches that had been proving difficult for people. Quite a few people had been having trouble finding the cache at Llyn Blaenmelindwr so I wanted to check that it was still there. We therefore set off around the lake first, along the sections of trail known as ‘Diggers End’ and the ‘Spine’. The geocache was indeed there and all was well with it so after a quick stop we continued on our way around the lake and then off towards Llyn Syfyddrin.
The sun was shining, there was very little wind and very few people about. In fact we hadn’t seen anyone at all yet and only saw one other person all day. Our route took us along an easy trail full of puddles to weave between and then a few deeper ones to splash through. Which Morgan of coursed loved! It was all fairly flat and easy going and before we knew it we were at Nant y Moch where we stopped for some snacks.
Morgan spent a bit of time playing around climbing up the hill and I sat there and chilled whilst timing him do various things!
We then took what was my first ever ‘selfie’! Don’t worry, it won’t become a habit I’m sure.
After a while we set off back the way we came and stopped off at an old farmhouse. It would be a lovely place to live with amazing views out across the hills.
It needs a bit of work though!
Once back at the car we had a picnic lunch overlooking Llyn Blaenmelindwr and then headed off to meet Anna in Penrhyncoch. Finally a nice day out with Morgan and the weather cooperated too.
Great selfie, lovely of both of you, I think”the lovely place to live” needs some TCL before we visit though …..maybe that’s your plan
