Heating up in the Garden

Anna bought some plants whilst in town on Saturday so I had the pleasure of planting them out over the weekend.

It’s always exciting when Anna buys plants as I never quite know what I’ll get but the collection that arrived home with her on Saturday seem fine. I’d asked for some white Alyssum or Lobelia to put around the edges of some of the borders. They didn’t have any so instead I got some white Saxifraga. To be honest these are probably a better choice really as they are perennials so if they survive the winter I’ll not have to replace them next year, and they are pretty good for the moths, butteflies and hopefully bees.

We also got several Hebes to replace some of the ones that didn’t make it through the winter, some lavenders that I’ll put around the deck out the front and a Pericallis which I’ve put into a border out the back and is already providing a much needed splash of colour. As it’s such a grey miserable day out there today I’d thought I’d share a photo of it with you.
