Rainy Days & Waves
I couldn’t let Monday get all of the credit. Tuesday is just as good a day after all. it may have been raining but there were waves so it was off to the beach again for some fun rides on my surf ski.

It’s not exactly training but when there are waves about it would be rude not to go out for a little play. Lots of life out there at the moment as well with huge bait balls being dive bombed by gannets and gulls and even a guy out fishing from a surfboard.
Well, that was a tough race. I’m not even sure if I enjoyed it or not!! Round 3 this year was at the Foxley Estate which is always quite a technical and difficult course but usually leads to come good racing. It had rained quite a bit overnight and throughout the morning so things were...
Well, that was a quick windsurf session. Quick as in high speed, and quick as in short-lived too. With 40+ knot offshore winds, choppy waters and speeds over the water in excess of 30 knots there was just too much potential for injury. Morgan is already out of action thanks to two broken toes, I...
Following on from my baptism of fire in the Tewskesbury Hasler a few weeks ago I thought it was time to give it another go. This time at the Gloucester Hasler. I don’t think two races quite make me a kayak racer but it’s a start. I had at least now paddled a K1 a...

It’s that time of year again, a new cyclocross season, a new reason to ride bikes around muddy fields and a brand new venue for round 1. And what a race it was – flat out all the way and plenty of close contact racing with a huge field of entrants. The Welsh Cyclocross Series...
I haven’t posted any footage of me on my surf ski for a while. I have been out in it now and then but not as much as usual as I’ve been trying to get to grips with my new K1 instead. ON the few occasions that I have been out I haven’t taken my...
It’s time for a nice new rucksack. OK, I’ll admit it, I’m living something of a consumerist lifestyle. Yes, I’ve got more ‘toys’ than is absolutely necessary and I do sometimes live by the adage of ‘He who dies with the most toys, wins.‘ It may not quite fit quite with the ‘Simple Life of...
Once again it was off to Shrewsbury for the annual Quadrathlon and Triathlon. I’ll try not to write a huge blog post about it this year as from my perspective it was pretty much business as usual and everything went pretty much as I expected. [Edit: Well, it ended up fairly long in the end...
