From Mountain Walk to Kitchen Wall
Do you like our latest framed print for the house? I think we’ll hang it in the kitchen where we’ll see it every day.
This latest one was actually a gift from Lizzie herself. She wanted to scramble up and across Crib Goch and was planning to hire a guide. However, Rhys and I wanted to do it too — as did a couple of people our wives work with — and it turned out one of them is friends with Lizzie. So Rhys and I offered to take them all and act as their guides for the day.
It turned out to be the perfect day in the hills, and everyone came back happy. Lizzie enjoyed it so much that she created a new painting inspired by the walk, which she’s now selling through her Driftwood Designs shops. Better still, as a thank you, she gave each of us a signed, framed print of the new piece. Perfect!
Here’s a photo taken on that trip from the spot that inspired Lizzie’s painting.
We already have a little collection of Lizzie Spikes prints in the bathroom — all somewhat weather- or Wales-related — including:
- The Beaufort Scale
- Clouds
- The Welsh Uplands
- The Wales Coast Path
We also bought one recently for a 50th birthday present for Sophie – Lizzie’s prints, cards and other products make perfect presents. Check them out at Driftwood Designs.
