Lights and Lurgy

Well, our trip to Bristol a couple of weeks ago left me with the beast of all lurgy’s. It didn’t seem too bad to start with but then I just couldn’t kick it and I probably ended up with a chest infection. It still hasn’t gone and I still can’t stop coughing. So, I’ve been doing very little and sleeping not at all! On weekdays I’ve been sitting at my computer working whilst coughing and spluttering like mad. At weekends I’ve been sat on the sofa doing nothing.

There have of course been good winds that would have been perfect for windsurfing, some nice clear nights that would have been good for camping in the hills and plenty of other things that I could have been doing, but there was none of that for me.

I did venture out one evening with Anna for the turning on of the Christmas lights in Aberystwyth. Anna was playing in the Silver Band as usual. They paraded down the main street with the lantern procession playing carols as they went and then played a few more around the tree as the lights were turned on.

I was surprised by quite how many people were there, but I kept away from most of the throngs and tried not to cough on anyone.

I just hope I can kick this lurgy before our next visit to Bristol in a couple of week’s time – and that I don’t get another while I’m there.
