Bugs and Beasties

The garden has been alive with various bugs and beasts lately. The honey bees seem to be doing well and have been pretty busy. I checked on them on Monday and both colonies were increasing in size and had decent amounts of stores. Both had loads of eggs and brood too so things are looking good. I’ll have to keep an eye on them though as they will be thinking about swarming soon.

Elsewhere in the garden there are bumblebees, hoverflies of all sorts, damsel flies and lots of spiders, ants, beetles and cool green shield beetles. The garden may be fairly neat and tidy but there are a few more wild areas and the wildlife seems to love it.

We even spotted a lizard whilst out walking on the beach on Monday too.
