Tottenham Hotspur Football Skills

Ready for Action

I’m not a great fan of football in any respect. I don’t play it and never have, I don’t watch it and never have and IĀ couldn’t tell you anything about it, so I won’t try to. In fact, I kind of dislike the whole football scene as it just seems to revolve around lots of anti-social behaviour and fighting so I have never encouraged Morgan to get into it either.

Of course, he’s a six year old boy that doesn’t listen to his Dad and goes to school with lots of other 6 year old boys. He has therefore has decided that he likes football just the same as everyone else does and wanted to go to a football skills course run by Tottenham Hotspur in Aberystwyth last week.

He was lucky with the weather and had two good days on Blaendolau Playing fields and did seem to enjoy it. I had half expected him to not want to go the second day, but he was very keen, so I went down to watch for an hour on Friday to see how he was getting on. It all seems well organised and well-meaning. The kids were having fun but being taught at the same time. The coaches seemed to know what they were doing and were good with the children, keeping them under control but still letting them have some fun.

There was a little prize giving at the end of it and all the children got some Tottenham Hotspur merchancise to take home with them – Although, the is NO WAY that we are driving around with the car flag attached to MY car! Morgan was more into it than we had expected and was even up early in the morning practising his new found skills in the garden.
