Peaceful Estuary Seclusion

Just a couple of photos from today’s paddle into the estuary. I started from home, headed along the beach, into the estuary and then off to my favourite little secluded beach. Not a bad spot for a couple of photos.

Lockdown Exercise

It’s kind of annoying the number of people breaking the lockdown rules this time around. It seems as though hardly anyone is taking any notice of them. This is despite the fact that the Coronavirus situation is the worst it’s been. Infection rates are at the highest they’ve ever been. Hospitals are under more pressure...

A Christmas Eve Run and Walk

I had hoped to go for a nice hill walk on Christmas Eve. Nothing too extreme, probably just a walk up Cadair Idris. The icy temperatures and strong winds would have made it fairly exciting at those elevations. Unfortunately lockdown meant that we weren’t allowed to travel and were supposed to be staying at home....

Fun Little Waves

Some fun little waves at Ynyslas today. Nothing too extreme, just a nice mellow wave-riding session. There was even a brief appearance of some sunshine – sort of!

Walking Diffwys in the Rhinogs

Monday’s aren’t too bad really, especially when you can spend the day walking up Diffwys in the Rhinog mountains. We had an uneventful weekend. It was nice and I did manage to get out for a chilly and slightly damp bike ride on Saturday, followed by a surf ski. On Sunday it was time for...

Shifting Sandbanks

Early Morning Windsurf I popped out for an early morning windsurf session between the sandbanks in the estuary this morning. High tide was around 7am, but sunrise wasn’t until 8am so I couldn’t really get out before high tide. I therefore left it until it was getting light before heading to the estuary. I rigged...

Walking in the Dyfi Hills

Making use of my Annual leave I spent much of Wednesday Walking in the Dyfi Hills. Thanks to all of the weirdness of 2020 I’ve almost made it to the end of the year without taking my full compliment of Annual Leave. I can’t usually take it in term time. There wasn’t enough time to...

Stretching things a little too far

Stretching my Morning Trail Run Saturday was a grey, mizzly kind of day for our first excursion for 9 months. Sunday was altogether nicer with blue skies and a crisp autumnal feel. I missed a run on Saturday as I had been a little lazy. I therefore decided to stretch my planned 50 minute Sunday...

The End of Lockdown Number 2

The End of Lockdown 2 Lockdown Number 2 in Wales came to an end on Monday. There was only one thing for it and that was to get out on the water. To be honest, other than not being able to go paddling, windsurfing swimming or do any other watersport, lockdown number 2 wasn’t that...

Sneeze Injuries

You may recall in a recent post about a windsurf session here that I had said my new harness was uncomfortable. This resulted in some bruising and sore ribs. Harness Injuries Once off the water that day the soreness increased but still felt just like some strained muscles and bruising. I didn’t sleep too well...
