I’m pleased to report that Sunday went a little better than Saturday did. Running through the Bluebells It started with a nice trail run around Penglais Woods in the early morning sunshine. The ground beneath the trees was awash with Bluebells and the birds were singing in the trees. I put in a half decent...
It was just one of those days today. It looked as though it would be a good one. I had a bit of an adventure planned so was up early as usual. I couldn’t start the adventure too early though as I had to wait for high tide which wasn’t until 10am. The plan was...
Phew, that was a busy day even by my standards. Saturday was pretty busy as it goes with various garden carpentry repairs but I did get to chill with a nice big curry in the evening. Surf Ski Session Sunday started early with a Surf Ski session from Ynyslas to Borth. It was a lovely...
Nothing seems to last long around here. Anything metal simply rusts away in no time and even wood seems to rot pretty quickly. To make matter worse, anything that isn’t 100% secure gets ripped to pieces by the wind so it’s not surprising that I always seem to be making repairs. The sheep invasions haven’t...
I think that is probably the first time that I’ve ever mowed the lawn in February. The mild temperatures we’ve been having lately – it reached 17.8ÂșC on Friday – make it feel as though it’s much later in the year than that already. The garden seems to think so as well. It was in...

Regardless, there are already signs of Spring in the garden with Daffodil shoots, Periwinkle flowers, flower buds on the Hellebore and even some rhubarb shoots breaking through the soil. It’s not looking very Spring-like out over the sea this morning though.
It’s not looking too bad out there for a Tuesday morning in December. It’s 8am, the Borth & Ynyslas Weather Station is reading 1ÂșC and there’s lovely sunrise. There’s a decent surf rolling into the beach and it’s all overlooked by a thin crescent moon and the bright light of Venus. Lovely!
Unfortunately, the most recent set of repairs I made to my failing aquarium didn’t work. I tried emailing Aquatlantis again but had no response from them. They seem to have washed their hands of the matter and clearly don’t want to help. So, I have now had another go at making repairs. This time I drained...
Morgan doesn’t have a set way of getting home from school. Sometimes he meets Anna and I in work and gets a lift home. Other times he gets a lift with a friend. Sometimes he gets the bus to Borth and then I pick him up from there. Other times he’ll get the bus most...
