Tales from a down-shifted family
- Making the most of modest means
When I got carried away in the garden earlier in the month I removed an old pergola that I’d built. Being creatures of habit, rather than go with something else in its place, we decided to replace it with another quite similar structure. The pieces arrived on Monday so as soon as there was a...
This is going to be a bit of a geeky post for the usual readers of this site so feel free to skip if you want. I’m posting it here though as it maybe of use to people who are having issues with their WordPress based websites using the Cherry Framework. The Cherry Framework, Cherry...
My current computer is a late 2013 iMac. At 7 years old it is almost ancient in technology terms! That said, I tend to buy fairly high-specced computers so that they have a long lifespan. Although it’s 7 years old, it still runs well and is pretty quick. There are times when I’ve got a...
I got a little carried away in the garden on Saturday. I only popped out there to take look. Before I knew it I was deep into DIY which spiralled out of control. So, I spent pretty much all day out there! Electricity in the garden It all started because the electrical sockets that we...

So, we thought we’d try something else and support a different local business this weekend. Roast Dinner Take...

I know it’s a strange time of year to have the fire on but we had our new wood-burning stove fitted on Monday and it needed testing! It actually needs a few small fires lit in it before using it in anger so as to allow everything to gradually cure. It looks good though. Despite...
