I’ve just found a little caterpillar on the honeysuckle, looking for all the world like a little twig. Perfect camouflage, so much so that he almost got pruned along with the other dead twigs. Having looked through some books, it looks most likely to be the caterpillar of an Engrailed Moth.

I put the moth trap out last night and then went out and sat by it. It seemed more as though I was feeding the bats though as there were loads of them about, swooping down and flying under the pergola and then circling around the moth trap. I didn’t get to see them close...
Things are coming on well in the garden. The spring flowers are still out but are fading. The Marsh Marigolds have almost finished, the Bluebells will soon follow them.
