The plants I ordered for the fish tank arrived yesterday. Rather than pick individual plants I decided to just buy a plant collection specifically for a 36″ tank from Java-Plants. Not only was this a lot cheaper but it was easier too and would give us a good start. The plants all arrived in good...
The software that prompted me to upgrade to Mountain Lion had an update to it earlier in the week. Rubitrack is a training diary and fitness tracker for the mac that keeps track of all the training I do. I changed to it from Ascent when I upgraded to Mountain Lion mainly because it was...
I worked out over the weekend that the plants I have ordered for the fish tank won’t arrive until later this week, so impatient as ever Morgan and I wanted to put something in the tank. I’d normally leave a new tank for a couple of weeks to settle in and get the filter primed, but...
The nice weather looks as though it will take a turn on Wednesay so I’ve been busy making the most of it and trying to get on top of things in the garden. I’m just about there as well as far as the back garden goes. All the dead growth has been tidied up and...
One of Morgan’s birthday resents from us was a Slackline set. If you don’t know what slacklining is then it’s a little like tight-rope walking, but the line isn’t tight! It’s actually a practice in balance that typically uses nylon or polyester webbing tensioned between two anchor points. The slackness of the line provides a...
I wasn’t competing in the INTRtri St David’s Day Aquathlon at the weekend. Mainly because I didn’t want to, but also because it then means as a committee member of the club I could help out with marshalling on the day. I’m not that keen to compete simply because it is too early in the...
Phew, three weekends later and Morgan’s birthday party is over. It started on February 14th when my parents came to stay. Morgan was off school so we all met at Nant yr Arian where Morgan and I went mountain biking and then chilled in the cafe. We then had a nice weekend with my parents with days...
I’ve just finished the Spring edition of the Aberystwyth Beekeepers Association Newsletter. It’s a lot of work writing the content, editing it, sourcing content and images and then desktop publishing it all ready for the members but I quite enjoy it and I’m always pleased with the result. Best of all, the association members seem...
Shhh, don’t tell anyone but it hasn’t rained here for a while. In fact, I’ve just looked it up in the historic data section of the Borth and Ynyslas weather station that I run and it says that the last time it rained was on Valentines Day – That’s two whole weeks. The good news is that...
Amazon.co.uk Widgets Ha, who’d have thought it – I’m being used in an advert for Beet-it Sport, the ‘beetroot stamina shot’ aimed at cyclists and triathletes. I’ve been using it myself for a while and have been one of the ‘pro performance athletes‘ since last year but now they are using a photo of me in...
