Bands, Fayres, and Festive Cheer

I think we’re beginning to slip properly into the Christmas spirit now. Anna probably has been for a while thanks to the various Christmas concerts and carolling she’s been doing with the band, but I joined her for the festive fun at the weekend too.

After a gentle run around Borth on Sunday morning, we headed off to Llanerchaeron where there was a Christmas Fayre and the Aberystwyth Silver Band were playing. While they performed, I wandered around the stalls, grabbed some food, took a stroll around the gardens and the lake, and eventually made my way back to the courtyard where the band were still playing. The weather was a little dreary, but the music brightened things up and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed and cosy.

We then drove back to Aberystwyth and made our way to the Arts Centre, where Cory Band (the number-one ranked band in the UK) were performing. They played a few Christmas pieces to begin with and then accompanied Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers with a live soundtrack. There were a couple of technical hiccups, but the show went on and was enjoyed by young and old alike.

A lovely, festive way to spend a Sunday as we count down the days to Christmas.
