Forage in the Dunes

Morgan and I had a nice little walk through the dunes earlier. We were actually wandering across to the beach to check out what was happening with the RSPB Shear Madness. Unfortunately there wasn’t anyone there so we couldn’t find out more about the Manx Shearwaters or let them know that I often see them when out windsurfing.

We did take a look at the flowers in the dunes though and were pleased to see that there were plenty of them. We didn’t see any of our honey bees on them, but there were plenty of bumble bees and I’m sure if our bees are desperate there will be a decent source of nectar and pollen for them in the dunes. The fact that there weren’t any there probably means that they have found a better source somewhere else.
