As well as moths in the moth trap on Sunday we also found a tiny (minute?) little newt next to it. Here he is on Morgan’s hands. As far as the moths go, we had a few in their, including a Dark Sword Grass which was a new one for us.

Sounds of the Night

I’ve been doing quite a bit of moth-trapping lately. Usually it just involves placing a moth trap in the garden overnight and then investigating the contents in the morning. More Moth Trapping

Morgan and I have put the moth trap out a couple of times this month. The first night it was pretty windy but we did get 6 moths in the trap. We also put it out last night, but as there was quite a lot of rain forecast I brought it in at around 10.30pm...

Ceredigion Moths

As you should know by now, a recent moth trapping night at Ynyslas Nature Reserve prompted us to look into buying a moth trap. Well, the trap arrived yesterday so we put it out last night and it worked, we had a nice collection of moths in the trap this morning. Along of course with...

Buying a Moth Trap

I can’t claim to be an expert in the world of Moth trapping and moth traps, but I’m keen to get started and have been doing some research into the best traps to get so thought I’d share my findings here. Hopefully it will be of use to people in the same position as me...
