The garden is going through a pink and purple phase at the moment, with Lupins and Foxgloves stealing the show. Although the little Primula Vialli are sticking up for themselves and matching the pinks and purples of both of the taller spires.

In addition to the Spring flowers in the garden and the blossom on the trees which the bees seem to be enjoying, there is some fantastic foliage around at this time of year too. The lupins are full of vigour. The Spirea is on fire.

Goldfinches – They have to be my favourite garden bird and although we don’t get that many of them we do usually have a pair in the garden now and then during spring and summer. They are pretty spectacular but I haven’t yet taken a photo of one in the garden. They appeared yesterday though...
