Tales from a down-shifted family

I had an e-mail from someone at WOM World the other day asking me if I’d like to testa Nokia N93 and review it on my websites… Now, I’m no real phone buff and didn’t know what Nokia N93 was but I do like gadgets and if I can get my hands on a top...
You won’t believe this… Anna did the washing today at the launderette and whilst she was doing one load she noticed my iPod earphones spinning around in the washing machine… Needless to say we were expecting them to be ruined 40 minutes on a high temp wash and a rinse cycle was bound to have...
No, this isn’t an “I’m feeling smug because I use a Mac” post. I do use a Mac and I do like it, but I’m feeling smug today because I’m all backed up. Actually I am good at backing things up on a regular basis. I use a program called SuperDuper! which allows me to...
The rumours were there, we all new that there would be an Apple Phone released sometime soon and the MacWorld expo sems the obvious place for the announcement. We also had ideas about a touch screen full screen video iPod. So the full screen video iPod phone (or iPhone as it is called) wasn’t that...
I treated myself to a day out geocaching yesterday. A good excuse to play with some of my Xmas presents and enjoy the winter sunshine. Before I go any further I should of course thank Anna for looking after Morgan all day long and letting me go out to play. I started off with a...

We had...
My recent post about the utilities here in Wales describes a little about our sewage, electricity and gas problems here in West Wales, and sure enough we had a power cut again yesterday. But there is one thing I forgot to mention that is really weird. Every evening at 7.36pm our digital TV reception goes...
I’ve been ill this week, so instead of spending my spare time out windsurfing and general enjoying the Welsh coast and countryside I’ve been keeping warm and snug at home and have spent some time playing with the image generating capabilities of PHP. I decided to build a ‘stats sticker’ that members of my Forces-of-Nature...
I’ve finally got around to checking out what all the fuss about Social Bookmarking sites is for. For those who don’t know what they are read this description of Social Bookmarking. I’m still not convinced about them, but I do quite like ma.gnolia.com simply because it is the prettiest of the social bookmarking services I...
Despite having work coming out of my ears at the moment I have over the past few days managed to play around with the Classifieds Section of my Forces-of-Nature website. Although the functionality isn’t that different (there is only so much you can do with a list of For Sale adverts) it has had a...
