Grey Waves

It’s that time of year between Christmas and New Year. We’re all at home, there’s loads of food to be eaten and there’s not much happening. This year it’s also pretty grey and uninteresting out there. Thursday was drizzly and still to start the day so I headed out for a nice easy run. I’ve...

Boxing Day in the Sea

Well, it’s been pretty grey here for the last few days. Cheerful enough indoors though and I of course couldn’t resist getting into the sea anyway. The beach looked quiet first thing on Boxing Day. There were rumours of a mas swim in Borth at Midday so I headed down there for a swim too....

Merry Christmas 2

Christmas 2018 at Ynyslas

Well, we had a nice quiet family Christmas at home once again. I was a little preoccupied with server issues that I was trying to sort out for my clients but I put that to the back of my mind and managed to have a lovely day at home. Christmas Eve was spent getting ready,...

Christmas Eve Surf Ski with Mark and Owain

It feels like ages since I’ve been out on my ski or done any exercise of any kind. All due to some sort of man-flu lurgy. It might feel like ages but it’s actually only been a week – that’s more than enough time off for me. So, when I saw a little bit of...

Surf Ski Repair

Well, that was a nice quick turn around – I should be back on the water in my surf ski now. After further inspection, the crack in my surf ski didn’t seem quite as bad as it first looked. It was only superficial damage to the gel coat, but I thought I’d get it checked...

Signs of Spring?

It doesn’t feel as though we’ve even started Winter yet. Regardless, there are already signs of Spring in the garden with Daffodil shoots, Periwinkle flowers, flower buds on the Hellebore and even some rhubarb shoots breaking through the soil. It’s not looking very Spring-like out over the sea this morning though.

Huge Skies

Huge Skies and some big waves at Ynyslas today. Not a bad sunset either! Shame I’m suffering with some sort of man-flu lurgy otherwise I would have been out there playing in the sea.

Hall Lighting

As mentioned in my previous post about LED Hall Lighting, my idea to put some LED lights up in the hall for Christmas ended up escalating somewhat. The hall was redecorated, woodwork sanded and varnished, walls and ceilings painted, a new picture rail was installed and 20m of LED lighting was ordered. Not only that...
