The moth trapping has been fairly slow so far this year. there have been a few moths each time we put the trap out but no huge numbers and nothing too exciting. Last night was the same with only 14 moths in the trap from 11 different species. The Treble Bar was a new garden...
I’ve been gradually getting back into my old sport of Triathlon over the past few years. I used to do them when in my late teens but life got in the way and mortgages, marriage, Morgan and other things all took their toll and somewhere along the line I got about 20 years older than...
First up, it’s the Dyfi Enduro on Sunday. I’ve known about this for months, but that doesn’t mean that me or my bike is ready for it. However, I can’t get out of it now, I’ll just have to do the best I can and aim to enjoy it. It won’t be helped by the...
The sea temperature is gradually warming up, it still isn’t warm at about 10ºC but it’s warm enough to get in for a swim with my Triathlon Wetsuit on and the warm sunny days have made the sea look quite inviting. I had a nice swim at Ynyslas last Thursday, just a straight swim down...
Morgan had a Mr. Potato Head Easter Egg for Easter. Pretty cool we think. It came with an egg and various chocolate face parts and some chocolate buttons. The instructions said to melt the buttons in your hand and use them to glue the face parts onto the egg. We were a little less messy...
Hope everyone had a nice Easter? We did, the Easter Bunny came and left Morgan a nice Easter Egg Hunt to go on so he headed out into the garden in his dressing gown to find the eggs. It was a lovely morning out there and he seemed to have fun deciphering the clues and...
The Bank Holiday weekend was gorgeous here – That ‘s almost worth a blog post in its own right, but we also spent much of Monday in Aberystwyth and had a lovely walk through the Penglais Woods nature Reserve. The Bluebells are really early this year and are actually coming towards the end of their...
I should have posted some photos of this ages ago, but the unloading of rocks from the large barges out at sea continues in Borth. For the last few weeks there have been two very large Norwegian barges moored on the horizon, about 4 nautical miles offshore. Every high tide, both night and day, two...
And just to prove that I have still been windsurfing despite the distinct lack of wind lately, here’s a quick clip of me giving it a go with only just enough wind one morning last week. Conditions were very marginal and I was out on my 80 ltr slalom board and a 6.3m sail. At...
We did our customary pre-ride around the Dyfi Enduro course yesterday in what can only be described as perfect conditions. Warm, sunny and without any significant rain for a while the trails were in the main dry and dusty. Riders were thin on the ground, probably because it was Easter Sunday, but Dave, Dave, Simon,...
