65th Birthday Cake

It was my Mum’s 65th birthday the other day so we baked her a nice chocolate celebration cake. It’s a birthday cake recipe that we got from the Volcanic Kitchens cookbook that we brought back from New Zealand. It makes a lovely chocolate cake that we use for all sorts of occasions. It wouldn’t be a birthday cake if it wasn’t decorated though so after school and work on Thursday evening, while Anna was out at a Christmas meal, Morgan and I set to decorating it.

Here’s the process

And the final product…. She’s going to kill us!

Hopefully she’ll see the funny side. I’m sure everyone else will. And yes, the spinner spins perfectly.
