No Time For Work

Well, I had a busy day yesterday and despite initial reports I did actually do some work. In fact I did a bit first thing in the morning along with some housework, but as the wind was once again blowing a hoolie I was on the beach rigging up my windsurfing kit by about 8:30am.

The wind was dead onshore so I had a nice easy session blasting up and down in the shallows without any waves to worry about, just lots of white-water speed ramps, some of which were perfect little ramps for jumping off. The tide was out so I was able to blast all the way into Borth and back a few times. My ankle seemed OK too which is good.

After that it was a quick shower, a bit more work and then off to the Uni swimming pool for a fairly boring 100 lengths non-stop. I don’t usually do long boring swims such as that in the pool, preferring to do intervals and a hard workout, but as my training schedule had a 2km swim on it, that’s what I did.. Well, 2.3km actually, but only so that I could do a nice round number of 100 lengths.

I then met Anna for lunch and a coffee before heading off to feed the bees in our out apiary. I then just about had time to pop into town to buy some crickets for my frog and a pair of jeans before collecting Morgan from school and taking him to a party. Yep, first week back at school and the birthday parties have started already.

It was beginning to get dark by the time we got home and I was supposed to go out and do hill reps on the bike. It was far to wet, windy, cold and dark for that sort of malarky so I jumped on the Turbo Trainer for an hour and replicated hill reps on that instead. Finally, it was time for dinner, an hour on the sofa and then bed.

My arms are a bit sore today, but it’s still windy and I might just have to squeeze in another windsurf session… Best do some work first though and see how much time I have left afterwards.
