Just a quick list of some things to do in and around Aberystwyth this Autumn. It isn’t exhaustive of course but it covers our usual haunts and may give you some ideas if you’re at a loose end.

Lantern Procession and Fireworks – Machynlleth 6.30pm

Friday Novemebr 5th
Aberystwyth Round Table Fireworks Display – Football Ground, Parc Avenue, Aberystwyth. Gates open 18:00. Firework Display 20:00 £3 for adults, £2 for children.

Saturday 6th November
Fungi Forage and Feast – Ynys Hir (10am – 1pm)

We will no doubt go to the Lantern parade as usual (weather permitting) – Tickets are on sale at the Deco Shop in Machynlleth (01650 511574), but we just usually buy them on the night. The Fungi Forage and Feast sounds good too as I’d really like to learn a little more about free food in the form of edible fungus in the woods. The feed the birds and scavenger hunts at Ynyshir will probably appeal to Morgan as well.

I’ve been to the fungi forage before, it’s very interesting. There were some real hardcore fungi fans there on that occassion, I hadn’t realised fungi causes such passion in people!
