Christmas is Coming!

Having spent the weekend in Bristol for our annual family gathering, it was time to get the goodies out for Christmas and stock up the treats table. There’ll be no dieting here for a while!

As usual, the weekend away was a little hectic. We couldn’t leave as early as usual as Anna was playing in a band concert on Friday evening. So, we ended up driving through the ice and snow on Saturday morning. It wasn’t actually too bad on the main roads but care was still needed. We went straight to the Village Hall in Wickwar where we met my Mum and Dad, Jay, Jenny, Meg, Jack, Brad, Eloise, Trudi, Kia, Max, Ryder, Iola, Athena, Revna, Shaun, Kerri and Valkyrie for fun, games and some food. I think that’s everyone that was there, a few were missing as they were at work. We exchanged presents when the little ones weren’t looking too – Ho Ho Ho!

Anna, Morgan and I then headed off to a Kayak shop for me to try on some helmets before we returned to my parents for dinner.

I was up early on Sunday morning so I headed into Yate for an early morning run in the dark. I was taking it easy on the icy pavements. This was followed by a swim in the pool and a 2nd breakfast at my parent’s house.

The rest of Sunday was spent driving around Bristol, taking a look at the locations of Bristol University and UWE for Morgan and shopping at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway. We did quite well for us as we did actually buy a few things. Usually, we just walk through The Mall and barely go into any shops!

We drove home through a much warmer, but very wet and windy Wales on Monday. We still have a few days left at school and work, but Christmas is most definitely coming!
