Springing into Action

Another quiet weekend here for us. We had some good days on the ‘solars’ though thanks to the blue skies and cool temperatures.

There was barely any import from the grid. Just a little here and there for things like showers because that draws too much power for our inverter. Otherwise we were using solar power for everything and had the battery fully charged by dinner time so that there was plenty to see us through the night as well. We even managed to get the car pretty much fully charged too. That should keep us going for a while. It’s always nice to be driving around powered by the sun.

All was quiet in the garden too. It’s been fairly chilly so the early spurt of growth has slowed a little. It does mean that there hasn’t been much to do out there other than enjoy it.

The bees were busy when the sun was out, and the eggs that I spotted on the hawthorn tree were indeed those of the lackey Moth. They have now hatched and we have several little caterpillar nests in their place.

With nothing much needing attention in the garden it was time to pot up some perennial seedlings.

I’m not sure where I’m going to put these yet, but they all look healthy so once they have grown a little they’ll be going into the garden somewhere. I’m kind of running out of room for things in the garden. What it could do with is an extension!!
