Springing through the Storms

Despite a certain amount of neglect and being constantly battered by storm after storm things still seem to be coming along in the garden. Narcissus, Daffodils, Primroses, Crocuses and snowdrops are all out and flowering. The Hellebores are still going strong and even the rhubarb is coming on well.

The bottom of the garden is underwater, there is debris everywhere and I have no idea how the bees are doing at the moment but it won’t be long before the hard work of Spring starts in an attempt to get things under control and looking nice out there. Mowing, weeding, tidying up, beekeeping, digging, planting, trimming will all be part of the daily routine soon. Not much chance of that this week though as it looks as though the battering from the weather will continue.

The wind has been blowing at 50mph or more for a couple of days now with some gusts up to 70mph and it doesn’t look set to ease for at least a week.
