Happy 11th Birthday

Morgan’s birthday fell on a school day this year, so he’s not having his party until the weekend. We still went out for a birthday dinner with him though and he chose the funky pizza restaurant Baravin in Aberystwyth. We booked an early 5pm table and wandered along the prom beforehand. The new bandstand is coming on nicely and it looks as though they are just working on the finishing touches now, including a giant ‘Madonna-esque bra’ as a covered area outside the main bandstand. It actually looks quite nice I think.

The starling murmuration was in fine form as the huge flocks whirled and contorted into interesting shapes above the pier and out above the waters of Cardigan Bay. We had a good view of them from our window table in Baravin too. Our pizza’s were ordered and we were informed of a deal that gave us adult pizza and a drink for £10. The pizza’s themselves were £12 each and we weren’t going to have drinks, but upon hearing this we changed our minds so that we could save £2 each on our pizza and have free drinks as well.

My chilli beef pizza was nice. Puddings were duly eaten and devoured as well and we were back at home before 7pm. Not the most exciting of 11 year old birthdays I don’t think, but Morgan liked his presents, had a good day at school as half of it was spent watching a prodcution of ‘West Side Story’ at the secondary school they’ll soon be going to. Morgan even got a shot out from the cast of the production as it was his birthday and then the band played ‘Happy Birthday’ to him and the entire cast an audience sang to him as well!!! I think he quite liked the fact that we’d asked someone to sort that out for us, but it could have gone either way. he could have been embarrassed

beyond belief by it and held it agianst us for ever!

It’s ok he can get his own back in September for Anna’s 40th as we all know she’ll love that !! Glad he enjoyed his birthday tea and presents and I’m sure he’s looking forward to ” shooting” his friends on Saturday.
Hope he enjoys performing today x
