Christmas Decorations

Up go the Christmas decorations, so “It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas”!!!

Christmas Decorations

After my birthday ‘celebrations’ yesterday it was time to put up the Christmas decorations. I wouldn’t say it was quite a tradition, but we do like to wait until my birthday is over with before the Christmas decorations go up. First though we had to tidy and clean the house, sort out our new tumble drier that was delivered this morning and have a bit of a clear out. Finally, after lots of chores it was time to go into the attic and get out the boxes of Christmas decorations. Up went the tree, then we had the usual search for enough extension leads for all of the lights. We ended up with everything in it’s usual place though. We haven’t; bought and new decorations this year (yet), but could really do with some nicer (and bigger, brighter) ones for outside. The trouble is, with the wild weather we get here they just get destroyed in no time if we try to add exterior Christmas decorations to our display.

We did of course have Christmas music playing during the day as we went about the various tasks. And whilst we were at it, we did a bit of online retailing too, buying Morgan yet another Christmas present (I can’t say what though just in case he reads this! – sorry Morgan!). We also treated ourselves to a second fridge just to store a few Christmas goodies in!! Before we knew it most of the day had gone and it was time to clean the fish tank and cook dinner (whilst Anna had a snooze) and start icing the Christmas cakes – I’ll save the photos of the Christmas cakes that until tomorrow, for now you’ll have to just enjoy the Christmas decorations.
