A Tour of North Wales – Meet the Road Trip Crew

After our visit to Bodnant Garden, and a day at Surf Snowdonia, we drove to Welshpool for the afternoon and then headed off to a field in the middle of nowhere near Llanfair Caereinion to meet some geocachers at a geocaching event.

Now, we’ve said it before, but caching events aren’t really our thing. We went to a sandcastle building one last year just so that we could get the final souvenir of the summer, and we planned to go to this one for the same reason. It was the only one we could find that was less than a few hours drive away from home, and it seemed like a low-key affair anyway.

That’s exactly what it was, just some local cachers getting together around a campfire to exchange stories and enjoy some snacks. We stayed for a couple of hours and meet some nice people, had a chat and some refreshments but then headed off as it got dark, leaving the others to it.

We did at least manage to log an event cache and therefore gain our ‘Meet the Road Trip Crew’ souvenir. Just a puzzle cache to go now so that we can log all of the souvenirs of summer.
