Swimming with Seals

I’ve just got back from a nice little sea swim in Clarach Bay with Graham and Sharon. It was a little chilly to start with but the sea was calm so the conditions were good for swimming. We swam across the bay and back and then Sharon got out as her back was hurting. Graham and I stayed in for another swim back and forth.

I’m a little faster than Graham so usually leave him behind then turn around at the end and swim back to meet him. This time when I stopped at the end though he was right next to me, literally about 6 feet away, I went to talk to him when I realised it wasn’t Graham at all but a large seal doing a very good impression of Graham. I said hello to the seal, and then swam off to tell Graham. The seal then followed me all the way back across the bay, swimming about 12 feet away from me and porpoising along beside me as he went. Somehow I think he was taking it easy at that pace though.

Not a bad way to start the day.

Pity you didn’t have a camera with you, I bet you would have got some pretty cool pictures.
