A day out in Swansea

The second day of our holiday dawned in now traditional fashion, very cold, very wet and downright miserable. No playing on the beach for us so off we headed to Swansea to find a place called Plantasia.

Plantasia was a little odd as it was housed within a shopping centre. Unfortunately most of the shops were closed or empty, but Plantasia itself was still open and was actually pretty good. Not too expensive to get into and it didn’t have much in the way of animals but it did have a nice tropical house with plenty of plants, some cotton-topped tamarins and some birds There was also an Arid house with plenty of cacti. Morgan enjoyed feeding the Koi Carp and wandering around.

Afterwards we headed off to ‘Toys R Us’ and bought some Lego then went to Swansea Museum and the National Waterfront Museum. Swansea Museum was pretty small but had some interesting exhibits. The National Waterfront Museum was much larger but didn’t really have a huge amount in it as it was a new, state-of -the-art museum with lots of computerised displays and such like rather than real physical exhibits. I prefer the real things rather than reading things on a computer screen, but maybe that’s just me.
