Ride a Specialized Stumpy for Free

specJust read about a cool promo by Specialized that could see you riding (and possibly owning) a 2010 Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper FSR. They are looking for people who ride a lot, and spend the rest of their time blogging, posting on facebook and Twittering… Does that sounds like anyone you know? Me… Really.

Sounds a little like the deal I have with Gun Sails that allows me to call myself ‘Key Rider’ and get discount with them just for mentioning the kit I’d use whilst windsurfing anyway.

With the Specialized deal the lucky *%@!!&*$ (I mean ‘Test Riders’) get to call themselves part of the Specialized Trail Crew and get to try the latest Full suspension Trail bike for 2010. The Trail Crew get the bike for a year with the option of buying it at a decent price at the end of the year, but discounts will be made for the amount of coverage they give the bike over the interwebs! If the trail crew blog, tweet and generally pimp the bike enough it could even be free!

IMG_1494They aren’t looking for top riders or racers, just your normal trail rider (that’s me), who might race occasionally (that’s me). They want someone who gets out as often as possible and tells people about it. That’s me too, not only do I ride whenever I can but I run the local mountain-biking club website and Forces-of-Nature where I organise rides and try to encourage others to ride with us and of post reports in the session logs. I blog here with bike and kit reviews, trail guides, race reports etc. and my Twitter feed and Facebook account are always full of MTB related topics… Will this be enough for my bid to be part of the Specialized Trail Crew?

I can almost picture myself already with my nice shiny Stumpjumper FSR cruising along the local singletrack in the sunshine, stopping at opportune moments just to show off my stead to others on the trail, then getting home, uploading my GPS data and photos to my blog and recounting the tales from the trail. Actually, that’s pretty much standard procedure anyway, but just imagine how much sweeter it would be with a brand spanking new 2010 Speicalized Stumpjumper FSR and a reason for doing it.

Back me up, tell them I’d be the ideal candidate and if you’re nice to me I might even let you have a go on it too!

You can enter too, just follow the instructions here.
