Ynyslas Sunset and Snowy Sunrise

I took these sunset and snowy sunrise photos just over twelve hours apart, on the same stretch of beach here at Ynsylas.

Last night’s sunset was one of those understated ones. No big colours or drama, just a steady fading of light and a calm sea. The sort of evening where nothing much seems to happen, but you still feel better for having been there.

Just before sunrise this morning, the beach looked completely different. A light covering of snow had settled across the pebbles and dunes, and the whole place felt quieter than usual. The wind was light, there were no footprints yet, just rabbit pawprints, and the colours were muted and clean. It didn’t feel spectacular — just still, cold, and lit by the moon.
