Picnic at a Lavender Farm

Anna and I had a little trip to Bristol at the weekend. I was originally supposed to be heading to the south-west for work, but that was cancelled last thing. We had already arranged a family visit and some shopping around the work trip though so we decided to head that way anyway. We stopped off en-route on Sunday at a Lavender Farm just outside Builth Wells. We took a picnic with us and our swimming kit too. Sounds odd, but there is a swimming pond at the farm and it was a nice sunny day so we might have been tempted to have a dip.

After driving along a little country lane we found the farm and it was a lot busier than we had expected. There was a ‘Makers Fayre’ happening today which probably explained it. We had a little look around and then sat in some chairs beside the pond and ate our picnic. We did buy cakes from the shop too!

A few people were getting in for swims, Suprprisingly, we didn’t join them in the end. The water looked nice but there were just too many people around really. It was nice though and a good place for a little stroll and for a picnic too.

It’s not the most convenient of places to get to though so it probably won’t become a regular stop of point, but maybe if we’re passing on a hot, sunny midweek day it’ll worth the detour.
