Sunny Sunday Spin

Just a few photos from what turned out to be a Sunny Sunday Spin on our bikes this morning. It started off grey and cold as we got our excuses in at the leisure centre. We then took a circuitous route out of Aberystwyth along the cycle path and then onto the road to Llanilar. The sun was beginning to make an appearance here as we regrouped and then headed off for the next stop at Cwtch Cafe. A few of us put in a bit of an effort up the shallow climb to the cafe, which did at least mean that I felt as though I’d earned a nice big slice of chocolate cake.

By the time we left the cafe the sun was out and it was turning into a glorious day for a ride in the hills. After the long 49er climb out of Pontrhydygroes we split into two groups at Devils Bridge. Most people took the direct route back to Aberystwyth along the main road. Three of us however headed into Ponterwyd and then across the hills amid spectacular scenery to Pendam. All finished off with a high speed descent into Penrhyncoch. I then finished the ride off on my own heading back to Ynyslas after a nice morning in the saddle.
