Spring Moths
It’s been ages since we put the moth trap out. The last time was back in August last year. Terrible I know, but the weather hasn’t been kind and we’ve been busy so finding an evening where it wasn’t going to rain and when Morgan and I would hjave time to go through the trap in the morning has been difficult.
We did finally put it out last night though and there were a few Spring moths in it this morning. Nothing too exciting , but it’s good to see that they are still out and about when the lights are out. In the trap this morning were:
- 2x Early Grey
- 1x Shoulder Stripe
- 9x Hebrew Character
- 2x Powdered Quaker Quaker
- 1x Clouded Drab
- 1x Common Quaker
- 1x Mottled Grey
- 1x Red Chestnut
- Mottled Grey
- Mottled Grey
- Red Chestnut
By matter of conmparison I thought I’d look back to see what we were getting at this time of year in previous years and things do indeed seem fairly similar.
