Apologies, Precautions and Previews

First and apology for the lack of posts here recently, but I’ve been on the holiday of a lifetime in New Zealand and was without Internet access.

Second a precautionary tale that I shall be making up for this over the next days and weeks with a day by day account of our trip. I turn our blog into a printed book each year so will want all of the details of the trip in that which means you’ll have to put up with it here as well. Hopefully it’ll be pretty interesting though, so thirdly, here’s a quick preview.

The trip was, as the Kiwi’s would say, ‘Awesome’. It involved somewhere around 24,000 miles of flying, 3,000 miles of driving, 5 nights in Auckland, a World Championship Triathlon race, volcanoes and painted toes, boat trips and hot dips, mud pools and waterfalls,  giant trees and kiwis, surf and turf, lakes and cakes, zip lines and good times.

There’s loads to tell, so tell it I will. The Triathlon went well, Auckland is a lovely city, the countryside is just the way we like it. We managed to pack loads into our 3 weeks there. I even did a bonus race in the form of a road race around Lake Rotorua. You’ll have to wait for the details, but that went well too. The surf was good, the food was good, the scenery was good and we all had a fantastic time.

There’s plenty to come and loads of photos too, so sit back, enjoy the ride and expect plenty of blog posts over the next week or so as I try to catch up.
