Today’s Moths

Yes, at long last I put the moth trap out last night.

It was a gorgeous night with light winds, clear skies and temperatures only dropping to 15ºC – are you sure this is Wales at the end of September. There weren’t loads of moths in the trap but there were enough. 66 in total from 14 different species.

  • 15 x Setaceous Hebrew Character
  • 4 x Black Rustic
  • 4 x Red-line Quaker
  • 5 x Silver Y
  • 3 x Large Wainscot
  • 1 x Sallow
  • 4 x Feathered Ranunculus
  • 1 x Large Yellow Underwing
  • 1 x Shuttle-shaped Dart
  • 3 x Beaded Chestnut
  • 3 x Small Square Spot
  • 4 x Square-spot Rustic
