Alternative Beach Transport – Windsurf Wheelbarrow

For some reason many people find it odd that I use a wheelbarrow to get to the beach. In fact some people don’t even believe it, but it’s true. It’s actually the easiest (and cheapest) way to transport my kit to the beach and means that I can go from sitting at my desk working to being fully rigged an on the water in around 10 minutes (if I’m in a hurry).

Not only is it environmentally friendly but it means I can transport two boards, 3 sails and all of the masts, booms and other bits and pieces that I might need, quickly and easily to the beach. As yet I don’t have a shed big enough to park it in fully loaded so have to load and unload it at home, but that doesn’t take too long.

I’ve just got back from a nice little windsurf session, but as is sometimes the case I stopped the video camera when I meant to start it and started it when I meant to stop it, so here’s a quick clip of my packing up and heading off with my wheelbarrow!
