Growing your Own – Herbs, Fruit and Veg

Our garden is coming along nicely at the moment. Other than the raised beds that I built a couple of weeks ago we don’t have any areas dedicated to growing fruit, veg or herbs, but it’s surprising just how many culinary plants we do have.

Herbs

We have various herbs dotted around the flower beds:

  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Marjoram
  • Parsley
  • Sage
  • Coriander
  • Bay
  • Lavender
  • Lemonbalm
  • Mint
  • Feverfew
  • Chives
  • Basil
  • Lovage

Fruit

Fruit isn’t easy to grow here, but we do have flower bed that has some:

  • Goji Berries
  • Raspberries
  • Whitecurrants
  • Redcurrants
  • Strawberries
  • Rhubarb

Vegetables

The new raised bed and a few containers are where we grow our veg and currently on the go we have:

  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Beans
  • Courgettes
  • Salad
  • Peppers
  • Kale
  • Chard
  • Sprouts
  • Leeks
  • Spring Onions
  • Tomatoes

I’m quite surprised myself seeing as we never intended to ‘grow our own’, it has just kind of happened as we’ve added plants to the garden. What’s more, having them growing in amongst the shrubs and flowers means that they all look nice and add to the overall effect of the garden. I can’t wait to start eating them now!
