Things to do in Ynyslas Dunes

It looks as though we have a busy weekend ahead of us. My parents are visiting so Morgan is looking forward to seeing ‘Ninny and Grandad’ and we’ve been looking for things to do.

There is quite a bit going on at the Ynyslas Dunes Visitor centre. On Friday evening they are organising a ‘National Moth Night’ billed as

“a fantastic opportunity to glimpse these nocturnal marvels. Come along to the visitors centre at Ynyslas with warm clothes and a torch.”

I’ve been meaning to do set up a moth-trap myself with Morgan so this sounds like an opportunity that will be too good to miss.

Then on Sunday they have an event about the reptiles of the dunes:

Dyfi National Nature Reserve : Reptiles and Amphibians of Ynyslas Visitor Centre: Come and discover these fascinating inhabitants of Ynyslas, and find out about the re-introduced sand-lizard.

I want to find out how many sand lizards they reintroduced here at Ynyslas, where they let them go etc. so if we have time we’ll pop down to that as well. Maybe we’ll see you there?

The weather looks good for the weekend, no wind, no rain and decent temperatures so it would be good to get the canoe out and go for a paddle as well… Lots to do here in sunny Wales!

Will I find time to mow the lawn as well!
